If Women Could Get Rid Of One Side Effect On Their Periods, Here's What It Would Be

Every aspect of periods comes together to make it the absolute worst time of the month. However, some aspects are worse than others. In an interesting AskWomen thread, women discuss what aspect of their period they would get rid of in a heartbeat if they could. For me, it's definitely the cramps, but it's not the same for everyone. We can't abolish any period side effects, but we can definitely dream about it.     Font - 1throwawayor4 · 50m · edited 49m The blood. My period is extremely heavy, to the point where I get anemic during it. My cramps and mood swings really aren't that bad. I don't even get cramps every time. The skin breakouts would be a close second. They're painful

    Font - baby-elf · 50m · edited 49m Okay this is gonna sound insane but I would rather give up the horrendous cramping I get during ovulation, not my period. It is WAY worse than my period and I have to be on birth control because of it so I dont ovulate. But if that doesnt count, then hands down the bleeding during my period.

I can handle the more physical stuff like breakouts, blood, cramps, fatigue etc. but those hormonal mood shifts make me unable to discern clearly if my mental health is bad again or it's just my period messing with me and it's a really uncomfortable feeling :-(

My cramps are terrible and I almost always have to take a day off for them - but I'd still rather get rid of the anxiety and emotionality in the days leading up to it. It affects my life much more, as well as affecting the people closest to me (although they are wonderfully understanding of my crying and anxious overthinking).
